SPECS
Weight: 8.7 lbs
Case: Hardshell Case
Year: 1963
Condition: Very good with a bit of wear/dings/scratching throughout. Pick guard is cracked as well.
Tech Notes: Bass, Hardware, and Electronics have been cleaned/tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and Frets polished. Has been refretted in the past, with leaning a little on the lower height side, however there is life left and has no impact on the playability of the bass. Setup with minimal neck relief and medium/low action. Plays great throughout the entire neck with consistent intonation. Fantastic feeling/sounding instrument with a long life ahead of it.
This vintage Fender bass has been refinished 2 times.Â
- Original Neck date markings present, however no visible date in neck pocket.Â
- Original Fender Pickups (black bobbins with original winds)
- Original pickup routes, electronic routes, neck router hump, and lazy pin holes match the body year/era appropriately.
- Original Clay Fret Marker Dots
- Original Kluson Reverse Clover TunersÂ
- Original Frets
- Original Bridge
- Original Pickup/Bridge Ashtray Cover
- Non-Original CTS Pots (dated 1974 and 1976).
- Small full neck pocket shim required to address neck angle.Â
- Cracked/split Pickguard is currently stabilized with double sided tape to the metal shielding plate.Â
- Non-Original Hardshell Case
Even though the body has been refinished twice (the most recent refinish covering any possible cavity date markings), the structural details line up with what we expect from a mid 1963 model.
We are happy to provide additional detailed photos of routes, pin holes, neck heel, and electronics upon request.

All of our guitars come with a FREE professional setup to a comfortable action as specified by that instrument’s manufacturer. INDIVIDUALLY PHOTOGRAPHED
After 15 years of innovation in our photography process, Ish Guitars has developed a way to get you the most accurate true-to-life color of every instrument we sell. We never embellish, oversaturate, or misrepresent our images, so that your buying experience can be as much like visiting our showroom as possible. Keep in mind that various computer screens can show colors a bit differently, so the color on your screen may not match the real thing perfectly no matter how hard we try. Also, unless otherwise noted, we individually list and photo every piece of gear that comes through our doors.
