2021 Malinoski Lynx Turquoise Paper Fiber

2021 Malinoski Lynx Turquoise Paper Fiber

The Lynx body is derived from the Bobkat, but it is less squat and a bit larger with some contouring around the edges, made of African mahogany and poplar with a custom poly-paper top and Danish oiled finish. The oiled maple neck with maple fretboard is a normal 24-3/4” scale with a modern C carve (.84 1st - .90 12th), 12” radius and 1-5/8" nut. It has a dual action trussrod, 22 Jescar 47104 frets, a Delrin nut, Hipshot locking tuners and an aluminum Wilkinson wraptail bridge. It feels and plays fantastic.

The pickups are true to the 60’s design sensibility being unique is shape specific to this instrument. Inside the sculpted poly covers are my handwound Type13SC single coils, which are authentic to the 60’s DeArmond- Rowe pickups that equipped vintage Bobkats- they are clean and crisp, they respond excellent to touch and they sizzle when pushed, as sweet as a gold-foil design can be.

Add to this the simple master volume / tone controls and a Switchcraft 3-way toggle set into my own custom made epoxy/plexi pickguard; the Lynx is a beautiful and fun guitar that plays and sounds as good as it looks.
