DESCRIPTION
The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is a unique offering in the growing PRS SE Series. With a swamp ash body and 22-fret maple neck with maple fretboard, the SE Swamp Ash Special is a fresh face and versatile voice.
The 85/15 “S” pickups flank a PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil “S” pickup in the middle position. The AS-01 Single Coil features both alnico and steel (hence the name), which adds mass to the pickups helping to create a powerful sound. Paired with a push-pull tone control and 3-way pickup switch, this pickup/electronics package gives players an array of sounds to enjoy, and the addition of PRS’s patented tremolo adds a touch more versatility. The overall tone of the PRS SE Swamp Ash Special offers tight low- end, bright but mellow high-end, and a welcome twangy tone that can reach “hot country,” blues, and even jazz territory.

Our setups always include action, intonation, trem angle, and truss rod adjustments. If needed, we smooth out fret edges, address any nut or bridge shim issues, polish the frets, and condition the fingerboard. All work is completed by our experienced tech team who understand what today's players want from their instruments. If not otherwise requested our techs will setup each instrument to a comfortable medium/low action with minimal truss rod relief dependent on the instrument style. Case Details: Original Gig Bag
Cosmetic Condition: Very good condition with some imperfections from shipping damage. There are some visible crack repair markings on the neck/headstock joint as well as a small neck pocket crack. Headstock point has a bit of damage from impact in shipping (which we assume caused the other issues). There is also a small chip on the fretboard around the 9th fret.
Tech Notes: Guitar, Hardware, and Electronics were cleaned/tested and are functioning appropriately. Fretboard cleaned and frets polished. Setup with minimal neck relief and medium/low action. Plays evenly throughout the entire fretboard with consistent intonation.
Mods or Repairs: This guitar was a new item that incurred a small neck crack in shipping. The item was returned and we repaired the issue. Re-glued, cleaned, smooth to touch. Structurally stable.
