Mattisson Series I Janek Gwizdala Signature Prototype 5-String Bass

Series I 5-str. JG first Prototype

-P-style bass, light weight 5-string with 26 frets, 32” scale stringed E-C.

-One-piece light alder body for that resonant old school warmth. 

-Light weight ash neck with maple fretboard.

-Neck pickup equipped with a reversed P-pickup, later added a dual coil in bridge position.

-Painted with a gold color and topped with a matte black, then ”road worn”

-This bass has an almost classical guitar tone (when played the right way )

-One of a kind bass since changes were made to the final Series I Janek Gwizdala signature.

Woods and specifications:

# Body wood: one piece alder, dried 17 years in our shop.

# Neck wood: ash

# Fretboard: maple (dots in elm wood)

# Pickups: Aguilar P and Super double

# Passive Vol. /Vol. tone

# String spacing at bridge: 0.656”

 

In our eyes, this bass is brand new, but has some loving touches from Janek, like the duct tape on the cavity control cover.
